Free Health Support for Our Mountain Communities

Mountain Strong is launching free mental health services for adults, teens, and families in Yancey and Mitchell Counties beginning June 15.

Developed alongside local healthcare leaders and mental health clinicians, this program is designed to provide accessible, trauma-informed support for our community in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and beyond.

Services will include:

  • Individual Counseling: No-cost, multi-session counseling for adults and teens

  • Group Counseling: Supportive group sessions focused on healing, connection, and resilience

The clinic is being developed alongside local healthcare leaders and clinicians to provide accessible, community-centered care for those navigating ongoing health needs after Hurricane Helene and beyond.

Services may include:

  • Mental health support

  • Group counseling

  • Medication support

  • After-hours or weekend care

  • Transportation support for medical visits

  • Urgent care services
