She specializes in crisis intervention and building sustainable behavioral health access in rural, underserved areas.

Mental Health ProviderMKayla Nelson, LCSW, provides trauma-informed therapy in partnership with Mountain Strong Free Clinic and owns Rooted Therapy Services, a private practice focused on compassionate, relational care. She works with children, adolescents, adults, and families on trauma, grief, parenting, and life transitions, believing healing happens through authentic connection and strengths-based support.

Landon owns Mt. Mitchell Counseling and is deeply rooted in Yancey County, where he lived through Hurricane Helene alongside his neighbors.
