MKayla Nelson, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing accessible, trauma-informed therapy in partnership with Mountain Strong Free Clinic.

She is passionate about expanding access to quality mental health care and believes therapy should be a resource that is approachable, supportive, and available to individuals and families regardless of their circumstances.

In addition to her work with Mountain Strong, she is the owner of Rooted Therapy Services, a private practice focused on compassionate, relational mental health care. Her clinical work focuses on supporting individuals navigating trauma, grief, parenting challenges, perfectionism, life transitions, experiences within the foster care system, and the challenges that come with growth and change.

She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families across outpatient, school, residential, and child welfare settings. Her approach to therapy is rooted in authenticity, connection, and creating a space where clients feel safe, seen, and supported.

She believes healing happens through meaningful relationships and that every person’s story deserves to be honored with compassion and curiosity. Through trauma-informed and strengths-based care, she walks alongside clients as they build resilience, deepen self-understanding, and move toward meaningful healing and growth.
