Mountain Strong was founded in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene by seven women determined to help the communities they love. What began as an immediate response to an unimaginable disaster has grown into something much bigger.
Today, we're looking beyond recovery and toward a stronger future for our mountain communities.
The Mountain Strong Society is a community of dedicated supporters who believe that showing up for our neighbors isn't just something we do in a crisis. It's a commitment we make for the long haul.
Recovery doesn't happen overnight. Neither does building stronger, healthier communities.
As Mountain Strong's work continues to evolve, we're focused on meeting the needs of our neighbors today while investing in what our communities will need tomorrow.
Through annual giving, Mountain Strong Society members help sustain the work that makes a lasting difference, including:
Accessible healthcare: Supporting the Mountain Strong Free Clinic and expanding access to medical services for neighbors who need them.
Mental health and well-being: Helping make counseling and other mental health resources more accessible in our rural communities.
Neighbors helping neighbors: Connecting individuals and families with essential resources and support when unexpected challenges arise.
A stronger future: Providing the flexible support Mountain Strong needs to respond to changing community needs and build sustainable programs.

Making a lasting commitment should be simple.
You can join the Mountain Strong Society through:
A one-time annual gift of $1,000 or more
